Born 1984 in Latakia/Syria.

Rasha Abbas studied journalism at the University of Damascus/Syria. She published a collection of short stories and prose chapters in various Arabic newspapers and cultural websites like al-Quds al-arabi, As-Safir newspaper and O2 Publishing.

Rasha Abbas participated in Syria Speaks. Art and Culture from the Frontline that was published by Saqi Books (2014). In 2013, she participated in writing a script of a short film Happiness and Bliss produced by the Bayat Foundation.

She was awarded the prize in creative writing for the book of short stories Adam hates television of 2008 Arab Capital of Culture Damascus, which is an initiative undertaken by the Arab League within the scope of the UNESCO Cultural Capitals Program.
