Born 1961 in Bern/Switzerland.

Richard Weihe studied German language and literature, English literature and musicology at the University of Zurich as well as singing with Howard Nelson, Opera Zurich (1980-1985). Afterwards he studied Renaissance Drama and German philology at Oxford University where he finished his dissertation on »The Theater Maschine: Motion and Emotion« in 1992.

In 2002, he completed postdoctorate studies on »The Paradox of the Mask: Concept studies and History of a Form« and started to work as a lecturer at the Private University of Witten-Herdecke.

Richard Weihe was a research fellow of the Swiss National Science Foundation for several years.

During his fellowship at Akademie Schloss Solitude Richard Weihe will work on an extended essay consisting of approximately fifty interpretations of images based on the material of his professorial dissertation »Mask and Face«.
