Born 1984 in Zagreb/Croatia.

Vanja Babić studied mechanical engineering at Polytechnic of Zagreb, graduated in 2008, and then studied multimedia/new media at the Academy of Fine Arts Zagreb, where he graduated with special honor MA in 2013.

He is currently working as assistant lecturer at the department of animated film and new media at the Academy of Fine Arts Zagreb. Vanja Babić collaborates with artist Bojan Mucko, presenting social interactive performance art. He is also part of a bigger art collective named PIT. They experiment with new media through their projects.

In the past years, he has exhibited his work on many occasions, such as Festival of work and happiness, Pergine Valsugana/Italia (2017), What I said earlier is irrelevant, PIT collective, Zagreb (2017), 33. Youth Salon, Zagreb (2016), Transcending cultures, Essl Art Award CEE, Vienna/Austria (2013), 48. Zagreb Salon, Zagreb (2013), and solo shows such as Super offer (2016), Bread from yesterday (2016), Transformation 1250 (2014), They can be found in trams (2012).

Vanja Babić is the winner of Essl Art Award (2013) and received special acknowledgement at 33. Youth Salon (2016), a special award for the best work at the exhibition Energy (2012), an award for the best student in the generation at Academy of Fine Arts, and the Rector award for a group project.
