Verena Elisabet Eitel studied dramaturgy at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy« Leipzig, Germany. Since 2011 she is enrolled in the master of film studies at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany.

Before and during her studies she worked for amongst others, Schauspiel Stuttgart, Germany, Landestheater Tübingen, Germany, Münchner Kammerspiele, Germany and Schauspielhaus Bochum, Germany. Since 2012 she works as an editor for the online magazine MAP MedialArchivelPerformance. Together with Barbara Büscher and Beatrix von Pilgrim she published the fith edition of HMT »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy« Leipzig, Raumverschiebung: Black Box – White Cube. In the season 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 she was assistant dramaturge at Schauspiel Stuttgart.

Verena Elisabet Eitel has been awarded the Marie Zimmermann Fellowship for the support of young dramatic producers 2015 upon the recommendation of the artistic director Armin Petras. The fellowship was endowed by Friedrich Schirmer, since 2005 manager of the Hamburg Schauspielhaus, in memory of his wife, the dramatic producer and festival manager Marie Zimmermann, who died in 2007.
