Born 1983 in Braunschweig/Germany.

Yvonne Zindel studied art history and aesthetics, ART.Education and fine arts at Braunschweig University of Art, Germany. 

From 2012 onwards, she has been working as an independent curator and author in Hamburg and Berlin. She has published on the possibilities of immaterial arts and cultural education, as well as on the implications of digital techniques such as VR / AR in relation to virtual collections. In 2015/2016, she received a scholarship grant by the »neue Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst (nGbK)« in Berlin in the field of art education for a mediation project in collaboration with a computer programmer.

Since the beginning of 2018 she has been holding an artistic research position at the Universität der Künste in Berlin for her project »Revisiting Collections –Transformations of Cultural Education using the Example of Digital Education in Non-European Ethnological Collections« funded by the BCP (Berlin Program for the Promotion of Equal Opportunities for Women in Research and Teaching) within the framework of the excellency program DiGiTal – Digitalisierung: Gestaltung und Transformation.

To her, curating is an artistic research process in itself that allows for enquiry – to re-imagine, re-arrange, and experiment with its methodology and means of communication.

In 2014, she initiated the salon-series Performing Encounters. This long-term project, which was awarded a research grant by the city of Berlin in 2015/2016, focuses on games and dialog as modes of research.

Yvonne Zindel is a fellow in the framework of a cooperation with Hybrid Plattform Berlin.
