Zrinka Užbinec is a dancer with a focus on choreography. She lives and works between Zagreb and Gießen/Germany what inescapably influences her artistic, economic, and emotional relationships. Zrinka is a member of »BADco.«, a performance collective based in Zagreb. The group systematically focuses on the research of protocols of performing, presenting, and observing, by structuring their projects around diverse formal and perceptual relations and contexts. Recent works they made together are Impossible Dances, Institutions Need to Be Constructed, and Lesser Evil.

Zrinka’s work experience is in a field of choreography based on co-authorships, where she takes a critical and feminist viewpoint of the emancipatory potential in the dancing body. She recently co-authored STILL TO COME, a feminist pornscapes, co-choreographed Exploded Goo, and co-organized Imaginations ~ Institutions ~ Precarity, Imaginary school for the future of the (art) institutions, together with her fellow students from the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at Justus-Liebig-University Gießen from where she will soon hold an MA degree in choreography and performance. Since 2004, she has been holding a diploma from the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb.

Zrinka Užbinec is a fellow in the framework of the scholarship TANZPAKT Stuttgart, an initiative of the Cultural Office of the State Capital of Stuttgart, in collaboration with Produktionszentrum Tanz + Performance and Akademie Schloss Solitude.
