Born 1976 in Tatabánya/Hungary.

Zsuzsanna Szentirmai-Joly studied from 1992 to 1996 textile and traditional Gobelin tapestry at the István Tömörkény Art Specialized High School in Szeged/Hungary. From 1997 to 2002 she studied at the Hungarian University of Craft and Design, Department of Textile/Weaving in Budapest. Diploma with honors. In 2000 she received an Erasmus scholarship for the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin/Germany.

From 2004 to 2006 Zsuzsanna Szentirmai-Joly studied at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest at the Department of Teacher Training with a specialization in visual arts and design. From 2003 to 2008 she passed her DLA degree on the topic of ecological thinking in textile art. Since 2003 she has been lecturing at the Modell Divatiskola, Textile and Garment Industry Applied Art Technical and Training College in Budapest.

Furthermore, she participated in several exhibitions and festivals: 12th Home trend&Design exhibition, »madeinhungary« selection, Mücsarnok Museum, Budapest (2009); exhibitions as part of her Lajos Kozma Craft scholarship at the Museum of Applied Arts, Budapest (2006, 2007, 2008); DesignKOREA, Seoul/South Korea (2005); Designmai Festival Berlin (2004); Internationale Handwerksmesse, Munich/Germany (2003).

She has been granted the Lajos Kozma Craft Fellowship (2005-2007) and the Hungarian Design Award in 2003.
