Concert »SOLIDARTY« curated by Jean-Jacques-Rousseau Fellow Maria Kalesnikava

As part of the festival »SUMMER IN STUTTGART«, Akademie Schloss Solitude, in cooperation with Musik der Jahrhunderte, invites audiences to solidARTy, a concert taking place on July 24, 2026. The evening is curated by the current Jean-Jacques Rousseau Fellow, Maria Kalesnikava.

solidARTy is part of the international platform of the same name, which supports artists affected by repression, exile, or professional bans. The concert brings together composers and musicians whose work is shaped by experiences of departure, memory, and solidarity. Featuring contemporary music for voice, flute, marimba, saxophone, and electronics, the program creates powerful sonic landscapes that move between personal expression and social reality.

A special focus of the evening is Katsia Kaya’s composition Abiens Abi, alongside her ongoing project Song for You, which she initiated in 2020 as a musical gesture of connection. What began as responses to individual song requests has evolved into a vibrant network linking people in Belarus, those living in exile, and those forced to flee. To this day, the project continues to foster connection while giving artistic voice to the experiences of migration and solidarity.
