Jenny Brosinski
»Riff und andere Bilder« (Riff and other paintings)

»The immediacy of surface, line and color«… is Jenny Brosinski’s answer to questions about her painting. Her pictures consist of several layers: Important is her intensive involvement while painting as well as dealing with questions about coincidence and failure.
Jenny constantly switches between objectivity and abstraction: large surfaces meet lines and smaller details. Figurative and scenic associations are possible but not necessarily provoked and the painterly effect is more important than the interpretative level.

Ndikhumbule Ngqinambi
»Thrilled to See the Light«

Nidkhumbule Ngqinambi’s work »Thrilled to See the Light« was developed in close collaboration with the choreographer and dancer Andrea Pivatto. Ndikhumbule Ngqinambi’s paintings were the inspiration for Andrea Pivatto’s correspondent performance, shown during the opening. Ndikhumbule’s paintings celebrate the light and the ability of seeing. They show people who fight through the dark as well as their excitement and enthusiasm when they finally see the light.

Nicolas Fernandez
»iPaintings«

»iPaintings« is Nicolas Fernandez’ first exhibition in ten years. Since his adolescence he has been suffering from a chronic disease, which prevented him from exhibiting his work since 2004. Paradoxically, this period has been the most creative time of his life. The ongoing confrontation with his disease gave him entire artistic freedom. On view are seven digital paintings, which Nicolas created on his iPhone during long treatments at the hospital in 2009. They are based on advertisement, stock photography and his own private pictures. In his work he compares contemporary situations with Greek tragedies.

The exhibition »iPaintings« by Nicolas Fernandez was realized with the kind support of the City of Geneva’s Department of Culture and Sport.
