The Akademie Schloss Solitude warmly invites you to Open Solitude on June 27, 2025, from 2 PM to 10 PM. Twenty-five interdisciplinary artists and researchers will open their living and working studios and collaboratively create a diverse program featuring exhibitions, performances, concerts, and readings.

With Swati Arora, Kenneth Boa-Amponsem, Lukas Beyer, Jean Borgatti, bak.ma collective (Özge Çelikaslan & Bilge Emir), Hanieh Fatouraee, Maryam Ghiasi, Louis Henderson, Saghar Hosseinpour, Miriam Humm, Hiba G. Isleem, Nils Ketterer, Sibongakonke Mama, Kristina Miller, Alireza Mirmohammadi, Mert Moralı, Atsuko Mochida, Hemal Naik, Matilde Outeiro, Marco Pando, Mayra A. Rodríguez Castro, Mounir Saeed, Sharmila Samant, Shaheer Tarar, Yashas Shetty, Noriko Tomita, and Seda Tunç.

The program officially begins at 3 PM with welcome addresses by Arne Braun (State Secretary at the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden-Württemberg) and Dr. Anne Fleckstein (Director of Akademie Schloss Solitude).

Installations, audio works, and live contributions will be presented throughout the entire academy grounds — including Mert Morali’s multi-layered sound piece Grains of Fragility in the Guibal Hall, Shaheer Tarar’s interactive and associative Spiral Walk through the house, and the collective exhibition Opacity : Transmission in the barn.

From 2 PM to 10 PM, the open studios will offer insights into current projects and poetic experiments. Visitors can explore works in progress across three floors in the two academy buildings — ranging from Hiba G. Isleem’s interactive video installation on familial archives to Noriko Tomita’s textile artworks. Readings by Swati Arora, Nils Ketterer (on the steps in front of the castle), Sibongakonke Mama, Seda Tunç, and Mayra A. Rodríguez Castro will add literary voices to the program.

You are welcome to come and go at any time — admission is free.
The fellows and the Akademie team look forward to your visit!

Food trucks in the outdoor area will provide refreshments.

Conférencier Leo Röcker guides the audience through the program.
