As part of this year’s 37th Stuttgarter Filmwinter – Festival for Expanded Media, the Haus für Film und Medien (HFM) is once again showing works by young film and media professionals from its university members within its »talents’ encounters« program.

This year, Akademie Schloss Solitude is represented by three former Solitude fellows: Monika Czyżyk and Neil Luck present the video work The insufflated space of potatoes (2024), Neda Kovinic her experimental short film Animals that are missing (2023).

For over 30 years, the Festival has been devoted to crossing the border between cinema and media art with an adventurous international program comprising films, workshops, Expanded Media exhibition and performances for people of all ages. The Festival’s core are the international competitions for short film, Media in Space and Network Culture – flanked by a comprehensive program. This year, with the motto »be water, my friend«, the focus is on the element of water as a form of connection for the cracks in our society.

The Stuttgarter Filmwinter is organized by the Wand 5 e.V. association.

Akademie Schloss Solitude is a cooperation partner as one of the five university members of the association Haus für Film und Medien Stuttgart e.V. (HFM).
