The staged reading “delirium 27” emerged from notes that Erika Latta made for a more comprehensive work called “Delirium 27“. It deals with memory, the reconstruction of reality in thought, and dealing with separation and loss. The protagonist is caught in a temporary delirium and reviews situations from his life up until the present. To give her listeners a visual impression of the process of creating the piece, Latta connects the staged reading with an installation.
Erika Latta (*1970 in Los Angeles, USA) studied theater and art at the University of Washington in Seattle and acting at Columbia University’s School of the Arts. She works as an actress and director in New York. In 1998, she cofounded the multidisciplinary group “WaxFactory“ and has produced many pieces since then. Latta is a 2006 Akademie fellow.
