Former fellow Haegue Yang receives prestigious Wolfgang-Hahn-Prize 2018

South Corean artist Haegue Yang recently received the Wolfgang-Hahn-Prize 2018 from the Gesellschaft für Moderne Kunst at Museum Ludwig in Cologne. The prize is given to outstanding artists once a year. The prize money (up to 100.000 Euro) is used for the acquisition of the prize-winners artworks to be filled in the artcollection of the museum. Also part of the prize is an exhibition – open from April 18 until August 12, 2018 at the Colognian Museum Ludwig. The retrospective ETA 1994–2018 which is a short name for Estimated Time of Arrival, gives an impression of how broad and diverse Yang’s Œuvre is. With over 120 works it is the first-ever survey exhibition of the artist. It ranges from photographs, lacquer paintings, video works, performances and large installations and material collages built with everyday-life-stuff just like blinds and electric light bulbs.

Haegue Yang was a fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude in 2007 and 2008.
