As part of Klangforum’s Tower of Babel project, three post-Soviet composers are featured: Anna Korsun, besides other artists Koka Nikoladze and Alexander Khubeev, creates a self-contained musical world.
In his first concerto written for clarinetist and former fellow Carl Rosman, artist and componist Turgut Erçetin activates embodied acoustics, drawing on models of 12th-century Anatolian architecture. Rosman will be performing as clarinetist in the opening concert.
The program concludes with Mark Andre’s tribute to Pierre Boulez on his 100th birthday, Im Entfalten. Dem Andenken an Pierre Boulez. (In Unfolding. In Memory of Pierre Boulez)
