Necati Öziri receives the audience award and the KELAG award of Ingeborg-Bachmann-Preis
Akademie Schloss Solitude congratulates literature fellow Necati Öziri, who has been nominated for one of the most prestigious awards for German literature, the Ingeborg-Bachmann-Preis and receives the audience award as well as the KELAG award
Necati Öziri is an author and dramatist. He has worked for Schauspielhaus Zürich, Maxim Gorki Theater, Residenztheater München and Nationaltheater Mannheim. Currently, he is a dramatic producer at the Theatertreffen der Berliner Festspiele and artistic director of the Internationale Forum, as well as in-house writer of Nationaltheater Mannheim during the repertory season 20/21. His work often focuses on experiences of loss and the impact that politically motivated violence has on families.
The Ingeborg-Bachmann-Preis was founded by the City of Klagenfurt in 1976 in remembrance of Ingeborg Bachmann. Fourteen authors are nominated this year in total.
