Akademie Schloss Solitude congratulates literature fellow Necati Öziri, who has been nominated for one of the most prestigious awards for German literature, the Ingeborg-Bachmann-Preis!
Necati Öziri is an author and dramatist. He has worked for Schauspielhaus Zürich, Maxim Gorki Theater, Residenztheater München and Nationaltheater Mannheim. Currently, he is a dramatic producer at the Theatertreffen der Berliner Festspiele and artistic director of the Internationale Forum, as well as in-house writer of Nationaltheater Mannheim during the repertory season 20/21. His work often focuses on experiences of loss and the impact that politically motivated violence has on families.
The Ingeborg-Bachmann-Preis was founded by the City of Klagenfurt in 1976 in remembrance of Ingeborg Bachmann. Fourteen authors are nominated this year in total.
