Solitude Alumna Maren Strack Receives the 2026 Brandenburg State Art Prize

Congratulations to Solitude alumna Maren Strack on receiving the 2026 Brandenburg State Art Prize! Newly conceived in 2026, the award recognizes outstanding artistic practices, with a focus on both the artists’ body of work to date and their artistic development.

Maren Strack’s interdisciplinary practice spans sculpture, performance, dance, film, and sound. Her work repeatedly explores the interplay between the body, movement, and material. Working with a wide range of materials, including rubber, metal, air, and textiles, she combines sculptural elements with performative and acoustic forms of expression.

The award ceremony took place on September 6, 2026, at the Brandenburgisches Landesmuseum für moderne Kunst (BLMK) in Cottbus. To mark the occasion, the museum presented selected works by the three award recipients in an accompanying exhibition.
