From November 13 to 15, 2026, the Klangraum Festival returns to Stuttgart, bringing together experimental music, sound art, performance, and media art. This year’s edition features three current fellows of Akademie Schloss Solitude: Tini Aliman, Austin Larkin, and Lars Preisser, whose contributions explore different relationships between sound, material, and artistic practice.

Tini Aliman will present the sound performance »Underground Archive« at Kunstraum 34 on November 13. Aliman’s interdisciplinary practice spans sound art, composition, field recording, and audio engineering. Her work has a particular interest in the relationships between sound, space, ecology, and technology.

On November 14, Austin Larkin will perform »Cochlea Bells / Harmonic Sirens« at Kunstraum 34. The American composer and sound artist explores the material, tem.poral, and spatial dimensions of music. Since 2022, his artistic practice has focused on the development and construction of acoustic two-tone sirens and continuously ringing bells.

Lars Preisser contributes the installation »Weaving with the Sound of Its Own Making«, which will be on view throughout the festival at Projektraum Römerstraße. Working across drawing, weaving, and film, Preisser examines the conditions of the post-industrial era, questioning established structures in industry and society.

Founded in 1985 at Kunstraum 34, the Klangraum Festival has long been dedicated to experimental approaches in music and sound, as well as their connection to performance and the visual arts. For the first time, the festival will also take place at Theater RAMPE and Akademie Schloss Solitude’s Projektraum Römerstraße, alongside Kunstraum 34.

Over the course of three days, regional and international artists will present sound performances, audiovisual concerts, installations, and experimental compositions.
