Born 1976 in Nuremberg/Germany.

Alexandra Leykauf studied photography and audiovisual media at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam/Netherlands and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg.

She presented her works in prestigious galleries and museums including the exhibition Rehabilitation, Museum Wiels, Brussels/Belgium (2010); Salle Noire, Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Paris/France (2010). In 2009 she exhibited, among others, at Kunstverein Nürnberg, Nuremberg, Galerie Barbara Wien, Berlin, at Galerie Sassa Trülzsch, Berlin, and at Frieze Art Fair, London/UK.  

Together with other artists, the publication Château de Bagatelle (2010) was published by Verlag für Moderne Kunst Nürnberg. Alexandra Leykauf received numerous grants and awards, such as Förderpreis des Bayerischen Staates (1998), Startstipendium des Fonds BKVB, Amsterdam (2006), Illy-Prize of Art Rotterdam (2008), and a grant of Stiftung Kunstfonds, Bonn/Germany (2011).
