Ammar Aziz is a poet, writer and multi-award winning filmmaker from Lahore/Pakistan.

His poetry has appeared or will be forthcoming in several anthologies, including Greening the Earth, , The Shape of a Poem: The Red River Book of Contemporary Erotic Poetry, Shimmer Spring: Prose and Poetry and Collegiality and Other Ballads: feminist poems by male and non-binary allies. His work has been published in several leading literary journals, including Wild Court – the poetry journal of King’s College London, Poetry at Sangam, Muse India, Dhaka Tribune, Narrow Road and The Aleph Review, among others.
He guest-edited a special issue of Poetry at Sangam, featuring Pakistani English poets. He has performed readings at various literary festivals and his poetry has been translated into Russian, Spanish, Bangla, Tamil, Kannada and Urdu.

As a filmmaker, he has screened his feature-length non-fiction films at a host of leading film festivals, and has won numerous prestigious awards including the FIPRESCI prize.

He has also served as a main jury member for the Moscow International Documentary Film Festival and IDFA’s Global Justice Award. Several media outlets including Deutsche Welle, Times of India, The Hindu, Scroll, Indian Express, Arab News, Dawn, Insta Italy, among others, have reported on his work.
