Born 1983 in Telavi/Georgia.

Ana Matnadze studied international journalism at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (1999–2005) in Georgia. Besides her career as chess player (Grandmaster), she works as a director of public relations at the prestigious Magistral Casino de Barcelona in Spain. She was introduced into chess at the age of four by her mother. Since then she has been winning many international titles, was World Champion U10 and U14 and a couple of times European Champion in different age groups, as well as the winner of several team and individual competitions. She represented Spain’s 1st board at the Istanbul Chess Olympiad (Turkey, 2012).
Furthermore she participated in events such as the chess tournament in Tbilisi to help flood victims in Western Georgia (2005), the Charity tournament Chess Against Drugs in Tiblisi (2006); the exchange program Chess and Friendship in Georgia and Catalonia/Spain (2006); the exchange program Chess for peace and understanding in Georgia and Catalonia (2007), and the chess project We Play For Peace in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria/Spain (2009).

Her numerous awards include the »Grantee of the Foundation« by the President of Georgia (1998, 2003) and she was a holder of the schorlarship (2001) established by the President of Georgia.
Ana Matnadze continually dedicates her time and effort to the support of worldwide charities. Since 2005 she has been the President of the International Charity Movement Chess – A Peace Ambassador, a non-profit organisation which has already conducted many international events, such as the exchange programs between Georgia and Catalonia.

She is currently living in Barcelona und is representing Spain internationally.
