Born 1978 in Mexico City.

César Gutiérrez Miranda studied photography at the Escuela Activa de Fotografía in Mexico City from 1997 to 1999, and film at the Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos (CUEC-UNAM) from 2000 to 2006. During his directing and cinematography studies he wrote, directed, edited and photographed several fiction and documentary short films. He specialized in directing and cinematography.

Gutiérrez Miranda’s films have been screened at several national and international film festivals such as: Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival 2008, San Sebastián International Film Festival 2006 and 2007, Tampere Short Film Festival 2006, XVII Rencontres Cinémas d’Amérique Latine de Toulouse 2006.

As cinematographer he was selected by Panavision and Kodak to participate in the Budapest Cinematography Masterclass 2005. In the same year, he won the Kodak Filmschool Competition for Mexico and Latin America. He was selected to take part in the Emerging Filmmakers Showcase at Cannes Film Festival 2006.

Currently, Gutiérrez Miranda mainly works as director of photography for feature-length films and long documentaries.
