Born 1992 in Germany.

Christoffer Horlitz is a researcher and curator based in Berlin. In his work he experiments with digital and community-based methodologies to investigate human rights abuses, repression, and digital politics.

As an open-source researcher at Forensic Architecture/Forensis, he investigated i.a. the racist terror attack in Hanau, the German genocide of Herero and Nama in Namibia and drift-backs in the Mediterranean. Most recently, he served as a policy advisor on technology and weapons at Amnesty International. He is a co-founder of the design anthropology research lab For the Love of Inquiry (FLI), which researches the impact of technological advancement on artist communities around the globe.

Alongside this, he has been a fellow with Mercator Kolleg working at the UN Department of Peace Operations, a Democracy fellow with Humanity in Action as well as an artist in residence with CultureHub New York and the ifa CrossCulture Programme. For over a decade, he was the artistic director of the award-winning Fuchsbau Festival for experimental arts and politics.

His academic career includes a Master’s in International Relations from thr Humboldt University, Berlin, with studies of art and politics at the New York University and Sciences Po Paris. He is currently pursuing a PhD on digital authoritarianism.
