Born 1983 in Munich/Germany.

Elisabeth Weydt studied German language and literature, political science, and religious science in Münster/Germany. During her studies, she worked for taz the ZDF-Auslandsstudio in Johannesburg/South Africa. She further edited a reportage diary about Israel and Palestine and volunteered for a newspaper in the rainforest of Ecuador.

She is currently working as a freelance journalist for various media platforms, such as NDR and WDR, and occasionally as a production coordinator for movie productions. An important topic for her: civil society – where the human being struggles with structural power.

Selected projects include the radio feature and multimedia reportage for Das System Weltbank for the research network of WDR, NDR and SZ, her commitment as a reporter in the performance Public Relations – Öffentlichkeit by US video artist Liz Magic Laser for Westfälischer Kunstverein Münster or the documentary and radio feature Aufstand der Kinder for WDR.

She received the research fellowship EcoFair Trade project of the EU to realize a multimedia reportage about alternative agriculture, as well as the Seminyak fellowship by Dirk Kurbjuweit and Claus Kleber for the promotion of political reportage on children unionists in Bolivia.
