Born in 1969 in Genoa, Italy.

Cofounder of the architecture collective gruppo A12 based in Genoa and Milan. The collective participated in numerous international exhibitions, among others, the 7th Venice Architecture Biennial (2000), Manifesta 3, Ljubljana (2000), P.S.1, New York (2001), Shanghai Biennial (2002), the 50th Venice Arts Biennial (2003), the Bejing Architecture Biennial (2004) as well as winning the special prize for media art from the ZKM (Center for Art and Media Technology), Karlsruhe (2000). Fabrizio Gallanti has been involved in various projects in the fields of architecture, graphic design, interior design and exhibition design. He created numerous installations, website projects and video works as well as held university teaching positions.

As a fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude (1997) he conceived and realized the interdisciplinary project “Next to the City” (symposium, workshop, exhibition and publication).

After living and working in Santiago de Chile, where he was associate professor at the school of architecture of the Pontificia Universidad Católica, Fabrizio Gallanti now lives and works in Milano as an architect and writes for various architecture magazines such as Abitare, Domus and 32.

Fabrizio Gallanti was the Akademie jury chair from 2004 to 2007.
