Born 1979 in Dresden/Germany.

Franziska Gerstenberg studied at the Deutsches Literaturinstitut Leipzig from 1998 to 2002. She works as a writer and as an author for the radio.

From 2002 to 2003 Gerstenberg was co-editor of the literary magazine »EDIT – Papier für neue Texte«.

She has published two prose volumes with Schöffling & Co. publishers: Solche Geschenke [Such presents] (2007) and Wie viel Vögel [How many birds] (2004).

Franziska Gerstenberg received numerous fellowships and prizes, such as a fellowship from the Deutsche Akademie Rom at Casa Baldi in Olevano Romano in 2008 and the Hermann-Hesse-Förderpreis in 2007.
