Gerhard Falkner

Born 1951 in Schwabach.

Book trade apprenticeship followed by extended stay in London. Received city fellowship and spent some months at New York University and in Mexico.

Selected publications include “wemut. gedichte” (1989), “X-te Person Einzahl. Gedichte” (1996), “Der Quälmeister” (Nachbürgerliches Trauerspiel, 1998), “Endogene Gedichte. Grundbuch” (2000).

Translator of poetry and novels from English to German. Publisher of selected anthologies and collections of American and Hungarian literature, including “AM LIT. Neue Literatur aus den USA” (1992), “Junge ungarische Lyrik” (1999). Curator of literary events.

Numerous fellowships, among others in New York, Amsterdam, Rome, Berlin, San Francisco and at Schloss Wiepersdorf. 1987 Bavarian State Fellowship for Writers and Poets.
