Born in Buenos Aires, 1940.

She studied piano and composition at the National Conservatory, Buenos Aires.

From 1985 to 1992, she was a professor for history of music at the University of Montevideo.

Her theoretic work deals, above all, with new Latin American Music.

She is a co-editor of the World New Music Magazine and a contributor to German magazines on the theory of music.

She received the Goethe medal for the promotion of international cultural relations in 1994.
