Born in 1985 in Belgrade/Serbia.

Igor Koruga works as a freelance choreographer, dancer, pedagogue, dramaturge and dance advocate. He holds MA degrees in socio-cultural anthropology at the University of Belgrade and in solo/dance/authorship from Universitat der Künste/HZT Berlin. Artistically, he applies choreography as a tool for interpreting varous socio-cultural phenomena and its individual and collective embodiments within public sphere. Recent works include: Hopelessness (2017); Only Mine Alone (2016); Streamlined (2014); Expose (2014) etc.

As a member of Station Service for contemporary dance (Belgrade) since 2006, Igor has been actively engaged in the creation and realization of its programs: Kondenz festival of contemporary dance and performance; Puzzle educational program; Archiving platform for Balkan performing arts practices etc. He is also an active member of the Nomad Dance Academy network in the Balkans. He taught as professor at the Dance Academy in Belgrade (2015–2017).

Igor collaborated with various artists and also cultural institutions (Bitef Theatre/Festival Belgrade; Dansens Hus and Weld cultural centre, Stockholm/Sweden; TanzFabrik, Uferstudios and HAU in Berlin/Germany, Rosas and PARTS, Brussels/Belgium etc). He received several scholarships, such as DanceWeb (2009) and Tanzstipendium of the Governing Mayor of Berlin (2013), as well as several national awards in Serbia for his various artistic works.

Igor is currently based in Belgrade. He is a fellow in the framework of the exchange program between Akademie Schloss Solitude and STATION Service for contemporary dance in Belgrade.
