Akademie Schloss Solitude is happy to invite you to this year’s Winterfest (Winter Feast) on December 6, starting at 5 pm. On this special evening we would like to give you the possibility to get familiar with the current projects of the present Solitude fellows and create space for personal and artistic encounters.
Artists and scientists from Austria, Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, India, Israel, Myanmar, the Netherlands, Serbia, and Sweden invite you to open studios and take part in the program with installations, performances and short readings.
The title of the Winterfest »News from Nowhere – (Un)Known Communities« refers to the time traveler from William Morris’ science fiction novel of the same title.
Solitude is in the middle of Nowhere. Nowhere is a place where everybody is equal; where pleasure is found in service and creative work; where technology does not enslave or render humans obsolete, but empower them in their creative work and craft; where money becomes abstract, sometimes an object of design, a demonstration of beauty, or an ever-changing subjective value; where memes and social media posts are designed to serve justice; where alien objects tell us about ourselves; where daily life is managed through informal patterns of cooperation and communing.
On December 6, the Solitude fellows will share their »News from Nowhere« with you!
Admission is free. With soup and hot punch.
Bar and DJ from 10 pm to 2 am.
