Maayan Danoch works as choreographer, dancer and teacher in Germany, Israel and Slovenia. Devising mental and physical procedures or working with light and other materials, her choreographic interest lies in the multiple ways of accessing an image or movement, highlighting the discrepancy between what is actually occurring and what we perceive of it.

Maayan Danoch graduated from the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in 2008 and received her Master of Arts in Dance Dissemination from the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln/Germany in 2015. She was the danceWEB Scholarship recipient 2014 and artist in residence at Kelim Choreography Centre/Israel in 2015. Also, she wrote for publications such as 5. Biennale Tanzausbildung, Köln and Tanzkongress 2013.

Her works include coda (Tanzfaktur, Köln/Germany in 2014), we began walking there we have been (tanz.tausch – tanz- und performance festival, Köln in 2015), mirrors and windows (Zentrum für Austausch und Kommunikation (ZAIK), Köln in 2016), which were presented at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, tanz nrw festival/Germany, Tanzmesse Düsseldorf/Germany, Kibla Multimedia Centre/Slovenia, Gödör Klub Budapest/Hungary, Dance Theatre Ljubljana/Slovenia, among others.

Maayan Danoch teaches dance, writing seminars and a workshop on the relation between verbal and physical articulations in the creative process at dance universities and centres. She closely collaborates with Ivan Mijacevic and Miha(sonda3). She is currently living in Berlin.
