Born 1964 in Cologne. Lives in Stuttgart. Studied art history, classical archeology and Italian at the Cologne University. Multiple stays in Italy, among others at the La Sapienza University in Rome and at the Art Historical Institute in Florence. 1993-1995 research assistant at the Fotothek of the Bibliotheca Hertziana in Rome. 1996-1997 research assistant in the Drawing Collection of the Art Museum in Ehrenhof/Düsseldorf. 1997-1999 research fellowship at the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart. 1998-1999 Gudrun Inboden’s assistant at the Venice Biennal. 1999 teaching position at the University of Stuttgart.

On occasion of Academy Schloss Solitude’s 10th anniversary, J. Stoschek will prepare and coordinate the exhibition „Solitude im Museum” (in collaboration with the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart and the Musée d’art moderne de Saint-Etienne).
