Born 1956 in Kronach. After completion of studies in German language and literature, assistant to the theater director at the Bayerische Rundfunk and acting lessons. Studied at the Academy for Television and Film in Munich.

Starts writing for theatre in 1988.

Selected works: „Amiwiesen“ (première Münchner Kammerspiele, 1990), „Die Froschkönigin“ (première Staatstheater Stuttgart, 1998), „Marieluise“ (première Stadttheater Ingolstadt, 2001), „Das goldene Kind“ (première Münchner Kammerspiele, 2002), „Solitude“ (première Staatstheater Stuttgart, 2003).

Selected awards and fellowships: Fellowship by the Colloquium for Literature (Berlin, 1988), grant from the German Literature Fonds (Darmstadt, 1991), National Award for Drama, state of Baden-Württemberg (1993, 2002).
