Born 1984 in Antwerp/Belgium.

The guitarist Kobe Van Cauwenberghe currently resides in Paris/France. In addition to a master’s degree in guitar performance at the Hogeschool Ghent Conservatorium, Ghent/Belgium in 2007, where he studied with Tom Pauwels, he received a 2nd master’s degree in Contemporary Performance Practice from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, NY/USA in 2010, where he studied with David Starobin and Mark Stewart. Kobe is currently a member of the electric guitar quartet Zwerm, the Nadar ensemble and the ensemble soundinitiative. As a freelance guitarist he worked with Wet Ink ensemble, Either/Or ensemble and Talea ensemble in New York City, Ictus ensemble in Brussels/Belgium and Multilatérale in Paris, amongst others.

In the past years Kobe Van Cauwenberghe has played concerts in Europe, the US, Mexico, and Canada in some of the major concert halls and festivals. He recently performed solo recitals at the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels (2011), What’s Next Festival, Brussels (2011) and the Festival Internacional Chihuahua/Mexico (2012). He was a fellow of the Belgian American Education Foundation (B.A.E.F.) and received a stipend prize during the 2010 Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik, Darmstadt/Germany.

Kobe Van Cauwenberghe forms together with the future fellow Matthias Koole the guitar duo Oh Mensch.
