Born 1967 in Budapest.

Krisztina Tóth studied French and Hungarian Literature at the Loránd-Eötvös-University in Budapest. Since 1989 she published seven poetry books that have been translated in several languages. Her poetry deals in an emphatic, reflected and sometimes ironic way with everyday scenes and conflicts. In 2003, her first children’s book Londoni mackók (London Bears) appeared. Her novel debut Vonalkód (Barcode) will be published in German in 2010. The 15 short stories bring up childhood, love and travelling during the Kádár-era in a very feminine perspective.
Kristina Tóth received numerous prizes such as the Jószef Attila Prize (2000) and the prize of the Belletrisc Association »Szépirok Tárasága« for Síró ponyva, her volume of poetry.
Apart from writing she designs and produces stained glass windows.

Krisztina Tóth is a participant in the exchange program between Akademie Schloss Solitude and Hungarian writers in Budapest.
