Born 1976 in Florence/Italy.

Leone Contini graduated with a Laurea (equivalent to a Master of Arts) in Philosophy and Ethno-Anthropology from the Università degli Studi di Siena/Italy in 2011. He works as an independent ethnographer and artist.

Currently involved in TRACES – Transmitting contentious cultural heritages with the arts, he is developing a project in collaboration with Museo Nazionale Preistorico Etnografico „Luigi Pigorini“ in Rome/Italy.

Leone Contini’s recent projects has been: Wō wō wō at Museo delle Culture (MUDEC) in Milan/Italy (2017), The Bank of the Migrant Seeds at Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella/Italy (2016). From 2013 to 2015 he presented Imagined Menu at Kunstraum München, Munich/Germany and at Museo di arte moderna e contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto (MART)/Italy and at Kunstverein, Amsterdam/Netherlands. In 2015, he participated at the 3rd edition of the Biennial of D-0 Ark Underground, Konjic/Bosnia and Herzegovina and at the 124,908 – SOS – Self Organised Systems, the 2nd Tbilisi Triennial in Rustavi and Tbilisi/Georgia 2015.

He was a fellow at following residency programs: Residenza connettiva at Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella/Italy in 2016, at The Politics of Food, I and II edition/Great Britain, in 2014/2015; at Kronika, Bytom/Poland in 2015; at the International Artists’ Association Khoj in the program InContext public art ecology in New Delhi/India in 2014.
