Born 1977 in Karlsruhe/Germany.

Marcel Wehn worked as an intern in the fields of graphic design and advertisement conception in Karlsruhe and gained experience in film productions in Berlin and Hanover/Germany, before studying direction for documentary films at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg/Germany from 2000 to 2007 (degree: diploma). In between, he lived and worked in Milan/Italy for one year.

Marcel Wehn works as a freelance director in the fields of documentary film, documentaries and photography. He lives in Berlin.

His documentary film, »Von einem der auszog – Wim Wenders’ frühe Jahre« [One Who Set Forth: Wim Wenders’ Early Years] has received several awards, among others the prize for the best film at San Gió Film Festival in Italy in 2008 and honorary mention at the Baden-Württembergischer Dokumentarfilmpreis 2007; it was nominated for First Steps 2007 (competition for final film projects at German-speaking film universities) in the category of best documentary and for the producers’ award of the international students’ film festival Sehsüchte 2007.

In 2006, Marcel Wehn was a Karl Steinbuch fellow of the MFG-Stiftung Baden-Württemberg for the media-pedagogical documentary film project »MOV(I)E – Hauptschüler drehen Dokumentarfilme«.
