Born 1973 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber/Germany.

Michl Schmidt had been trained as a stonemason and had worked as a stonesculptor before studying sculpting at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Nuremberg with Prof. Tim Scott, Prof. Claus Bury and Prof. Georg Winter from 2001 to 2006. Fom 2006 to 2009 he had a lecture position at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Nuremberg.
