Olivia Franke cultural sciences and art history at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in Berlin/Germany where she completed her Magister Artium with Prof. Dr. Hartmut Böhme.
 
Since then, Olivia Franke has been working in different fields of art and cultural mediation. Amongst others, she organized an interdisciplinary symposion in 2010, dealing with the changes in communication through changes in media: Dialog und Bewegung – Bettina von Arnim als Kommunikationsexpertin at Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf/Germany. In 2011/2012 she curated O, Du mein süßester Liebhaber as well as JENSEITS – Himmelswege vor und nach der Reformation, two exhibitions on the occasion of the Luther-Dekade at historical sites in the city of Jüterbog/Germany. Furthermore, she works as a cultural journalist for the Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung and as an editor. As a production manager she worked for the musical theater Kafkaskop in 2012, a co-production of the Konzerthaus Berlin and Klangnetz e.V.
Olivia Franke worked for the gallery Max Hetzler in Berlin as well as for Laura Bartlett Gallery in London/UK and most recently she was the artistic director of the Berlin branch of the Austrian gallery Krobath.

On behalf of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg, Olivia Franke will be responsible for the organisation and coordination of the 1st Internationale Donau-Kulturkonferenz taking place in April 2013.
