Born in Cairo, 1965.

He studied composition at Harvard University, taking a doctor’s degree. He also studied violin, performed at concerts and recorded music.

He wrote down various traditional compositions of Egyptian music.

As an instrumentalist, Riad Abdel-Gawad performs music from North America, Europe and Africa.

The composer also works on the subject of how to establish a synthesis of Arabian, North African and Egyptian music with Western contemporary music.
