Saâdane Afif

Born 1970 in Vendôme/France.

Saâdane Afif lives and works as a conceptual and installation artist in Berlin/Germany.
In 1995 he received his diploma at the École nationale supérieure d’art de Bourges/France and in 1998 his master’s degree at the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Nantes/France. His interdisciplinary and intermedial work deals with the practices of interpretation, exchange and duplication. He often cooperates with other artists, e.g. with authors and composers.

He participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions like Blue Time, Blue Time, Blue Time… (2013), Institut d’art contemporain, Lyon/France; Sharjah Biennial 11 (2013), Sharjah/United Arab Emirates; L’S BELLS – The Busker of the Gray Line (2012), MINI/ Goethe-Institut Curatorial Residencies Ludlow 38, New York/USA; Anthologie de l’humour noir (2012), MMK Zollamt, Frankfurt am Main/Germany; Reflecting on Reflection (2012), Galeri Mana, Istanbul/Turkey; Beyond Words (2012), Gesellschaft für Aktuelle Kunst, Bremen/Germany; Made in Germany Zwei. Saâdane Afif received various awards, amongst others the price of the Günther-Peill-Stiftung, Düren/Germany, the ART AND THE CITY AWARD, Zurich (2012) and the Prix Marcel Duchamp (2009).
