Thomas Gantner studied architecture at the University of Stuttgart, Stuttgart/Germany, and at the Accademia di archittetura di Mendrisio, Mendrisio/Switzerland.

His work was shown in numerous exhibitions, including: Venice Architecture Biennale (in cooperation with the architecture research group Saemangeum Island City); landscape competition Hadspen Parabola, Museum of Garden History, London/UK; Glaskon, Munich/Germany, and Atmospheric Evening, Atelier Zumthor, Basel/Switzerland.

Thomas Gantner received numerous awards and scholarships, among others the Bruno Taut Preis (2006), the diploma prize of the University of Stuttgart (2005), and a scholarship of the Accademia di architettura di Mendrisio (2002).
