Tobias Cheung studied biology, philosophy and history of science in Berlin, Cambridge/Massachusetts, Tokyo and Paris.

He works for the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin and is an assistant professor at the seminar for cultural studies of the Humboldt University.

His research focuses on problems of the history of science, epistomology and cultural science within the field of life sciences and on the interplay between life sciences and other disciplines.

Tobias Cheung is currently working on epistomological and cultural-scientific aspects of regulation, process and environment (milieu) concerning life sciences, urban planning and sociology in the last third of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
