from 8 pm for chess players and those interested

Vera Nebolsina, Woman Grandmaster, is the first chess fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude. During her three-month-fellowship, she joins the Stuttgarter Schachfreunde 1879 e.V., one of the biggest and most successful chess clubs in Württemberg, takes part in several tournaments, and gives internal workshops about chess, its history and cultural relevance.

Try your luck: Vera Nebolsina meets the challenge of playing simultaneously against 25 players!

On Wednesday, March 28th at 5 pm, young talents (children and teenagers) have the chance to play against Vera Nebolsina in 25 games being played as a simultaneous exhibition. Afterwards, the games and the single moves can be discussed together.

At 8 pm, Vera Nebolsina gives an introductory lecture (in English) about the world of chess – starting from the Russian chess culture, highlighting the ways of teaching and the experience of her chess teachers and, finally, presenting her most interesting matches. Consequently, the second round of the simultaneous exhibition starts: learners and experienced chess players are invited to play against Vera Nebolsina – until the last match ends either with a checkmate or a draw.

The event takes place in cooperation with Stuttgarter Schachfreunde 1879 e.V.
