Concert series 2015: Solitude-concerts in the barn – young interpreters play chamber music

On Sunday, September 6, 2015, 11 a.m., Gregor Hänssler (violin) and Mirjam Katharina Wagner (piano) play the last concert in this year’s series in the barn of Akademie Schloss Solitude.

Gregor Hänssler (*1996) took his first lessons on the violin at the age of six. Since 2007 he is a student of Emilie Haudenschild in the promotion class of Musik-Akademie Basel, where he is attending the study preparation class since 2014. In the fall of 2014 he entered the promotion program at the Juilus-Stern-Institut at Berlin University of the Arts. He took master classes with Prof. Ingolf Turban, Prof. Stefan Hempel and Prof. Nora Chastain amongst others. Gregor Hänssler has received various awards in Switzerland and Germany, such as in 2012 when he received the first prize with maximum score in the category duo violin/piano at the competition »Jugend musiziert« together with Mirjam Wagner. He is the special prize winner of Fondation Thiébaud-Frey, as well as laureate of the Swiss Youth Music Competition of Fondation Suisa.

At the age of eight Mirjam Katharina Wagner (*1995) began her piano lessons. Since 2011 she has received lessons by Susanne Huber at Musik-Akademie Basel, where she entered the study preparation class as a junior student in 2012. Since 2014 she studies at Hochschule Luzern in the piano class of Prof. Florian Hoelscher. She has received numerous first prizes at »Jugend musiziert«, both as a solo performer as well as chamber music partner. With her duo partner Gregor Hänssler she received the first prize as well as the special prize for outstanding performance at the Markgräfler Jugendmusikwettbewerb 2011. She is a regular fellow of the Da Vinci Orchestra Fribourg and of the Ukrainian orchestra Lviv Virtouzy.
