Akademie Schloss Solitude is once again cooperating with the Rudolf Eberle foundation, which sponsors young string instrumentalists. Violinist and current Akademie guest Ulrike Schmitz will stage a classical concert including works by Josef Haydn, Hanns Eisler, Bohuslav Martinú, Zoltán Kodály and Händel-Halvorsen, accompanied by Erik Borgir from the Ascolta ensemble (on the violoncello).

Ulrike Schmitz (*1983) studied under Ingolf Turban at the University of Music and Visual Arts in Stuttgart between 1999 and 2004 and under David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music in London in 2004-2005. She was awarded prizes in several competitions, including the international Jan Kocian competition and the Jakob Stainer competition in Germany. As a soloist, she has played with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, the Regensburg Chamber Orchestra, the Kiev Soloists, the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bavarian State Orchestra under the direction of Zubin Metha, among others.
