With DINGEN, the choreographer Paul Wenninger and the composer Peter Jakober (fellow 2011–2013) follow the tracks of a discovery. Following the performance an artist talk on the topic of the »informed body« will take place.
DINGEN – Concert/Performance
The choreographer Paul Wenninger and the composer Peter Jakober (fellow 2011–2013) follow the tracks of a discovery with DINGEN: the Chordophone, a huge string instrument, which was discovered in 1835 in Aksum in modern Ethiopia during an excavation. The two artists used contemporary construction methods to rebuild the intstrument and to stage it in a situation between concert and performance from the viewpoint of different artistic positions.

DER INFORMIERTE KÖRPER (The Informed Body) – Artist talk
The artists Peter Jakober and Paul Wenninger will talk about the topic of the »informed body« with the Austrian art critic Andreas Spiegl, the American computer scientist Robert Ochshorn, and the French curator Agnès Violeau. They will discuss the question how a body can affect its surroundings and which possibilities of information flow exist between composer, instrumentalist and the audience.
Peter Jakober and Marléne Perronet were fellows of Akademie Schloss Solitude in 2013 and Robert Ochshorn is currently a fellow in the field of Exact Sciences.
The event was initiated by Marlène Perronet (fellow 2011–2013) and takes place within the art, science & business program of Akademie Schloss Solitude.
The talk will be in English.
