Location: Akademie Schloss Solitude

DER SOMMER IN STUTTGART ’09

Under the auspices of the »Summer in Stuttgart 09« contemporary music festival, the Akademie Schloss Solitude shows the music-theater project Dreimaldrei gleich unendlich (three times three equals eternity) by Tina Hartmann (Solitude fellow 2008/2009) and involving José Carlos Teixeira (video), another Solitude fellow. One of the most pressing questions of the present time is – how can a previously »normal« community fall into a perpetrator-victim scenario? Is there, in every situation, a free-will decision to come to a »point of no return« at which involvement in pogroms or torture can no longer be stopped? Is there a constant danger of this and if yes, how can it be counteracted? Instead of the otherwise prevailing question of what moves the perpetrator, the music theater project Dreimaldrei gleich unendlich (three times three equals eternity) looks at things from the victim’s perspective: Why do survivors of violent acts often feel as if they share blame? And why do victims of violence try to figure out the cause of events?
