Location: Literaturhaus Stuttgart

Felix, Konrad and Katharina were friends. But they had lost touch, as one loses touch with many things over the years. Then Felix and Konrad get a letter: Katharina had invited them to her wedding. They desperately intervene to save Katharina from living a life that may not be her own. And they also hope to save themselves at the same time.

Der Spiegel praised Tilman Rammstedt as a “precise, acute and highly amusing” storyteller. With this mixture of exactitude and humor, his novel We remain nearby asks very simple questions: what’s life really about? What decisions must be made? And what happens when one, despite all doubts, tries out his or her wishes in life?

Tilman Rammstedt (*1975 in Bielefeld) studied philosophy and literary studies in Edinburgh, Tübingen and Berlin. His debut Erledigungen vor der Feier (Errands before the Party) was published in 2003 by DuMont. In 2004, he published “Mein Leben als Fön” (My life as a hair dryer/wind) with the other members of the group “Fön” (hair-dryer). Rammstedt lives in Berlin and was a fellow at the Akademie in 2004/2005.
