Born 1980 in Nis/Serbia.

Dubravka Sekulic studied architecture at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Belgrade and since 2003 is working as a teaching assistant with Ivan Kucina on various programs, most of them cooperations with different schools of architecture from around the world (KTH-The Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden; Parsons-The New School for Design, NY/USA, Technische Universität Wien, Austria).

Most recently, she is working with Kucina on an ongoing project about making a catalog of Belgrade’s informal architecture. From 2004-2005 she was part of a group that was running alternative cultural spaces in the former printing factory BIGZ, in Belgrade. In 2007 she collaborated with Platforma 9.81, a collective for architecture and media based in Zagreb, on the project »New spatial strategy for the city of Zagreb«, a consultancy study commissioned by the city of Zagreb.

Since 2007 she also is working as an executive editor of »Anchor«, a newly established school magazine. Furthermore, she was part of the »Stadium Culture« project that Srdjan Jovanovic Weiss and the NAO developed for the New Media Center_kuda.org.

She participated in numerous workshops, exhibitions, conferences, among others in the workshop »Looking for October« organized by the School of Missing Studies and with »port of miracles», a video created for »le temps d’un maree 2«, the 2nd Biennale in Dieppe, France.

Currently she is working on a project about the transformation of department stores in former Yugoslavia. The general idea behind all of Sekulic’s projects is to research changes in the city to reveal the cultural patterns in the space, creating knowledge of how to deal with the dynamic system of the city.

Dubravka Sekulic is a participant in the exchange program between Akademie Schloss Solitude and New Media Center_kuda.org in Novi Sad/Serbia.
